Poorly built and burnt plastic!
This replacement was easily purchased and installed. It smelled strongly of chemicals from the start. They made ice cream but the freezer smelled awful from day one. Over time I noticed black debris on the top shelf. On closer inspection, burn marks were found. Disassembled and found that the plastic burns. The heating element came loose and settled on the plastic, causing burns and melting the plastic. Now we have to replace the plastic part and also find the best ice maker that didn't break.
