As long as it holds up well, the screws provided are approximately 5/8" #6 size and when you insert the screws into the extension's mounting holes, the length of the screw reduces to 1/2". Longer screws can be purchased if you require a slightly longer length, but be sure to add an additional 1/8" length to the screw to account for the distance from the mounting holes to the surface you intend to mount it to. It worked great for my application, I needed an extension cord that installed very securely under my computer desk with heavy duty outlets, this unit DOES NOT disappoint! It worked 100% for what I needed it for, I needed to get creative Install a 14 gauge power cord under my desk, but a few zip ties and extra mounting hardware from a home store did the trick! Hope my photos help you decide to buy one for your setup. My only regret is that I didn't know about this company before, but I still used my other r extension for another project. From now on I will be using this product instead. They offer other base versions in the same style with 4 mounting points. The power cord plug is oriented at right angles, which means it must be plugged into an outlet on the left side of your equipment or desk, etc., or you can use a 14-gauge or 12-gauge power cord extension if you need a longer length, like me, and connect an extension cord in a way that you don't have to worry about the angle problem.
