I'm new to machine embroidery so I bought these because they say they fit Brother machines and are a good price. When trying to embroider my first design, the upper thread keeps breaking. So frustrating! I've rethreaded countless times, changed thread, changed the needle, checked the bobbin to make sure it was seated correctly, and finally decided to replace the bobbin with the one that came with the machine. It worked great and I had no more problems. I kept one of these rolls next to a Brother roll and there was very little difference in height. It's almost invisible, but it's there, and it was enough for the upper thread to break again and again. Unfortunately I found out about this after the returns window closed so I'm sticking with them for now.
