These sponges come in bags and are individually shrink-wrapped. They also have a rope to hang them up to dry. Before using one, I soaked it in a bowl of very warm water. It ended up roughly doubling in half an hour. Then I gently squeezed out most of the water and rubbed it all over my face just to check. The sponge was soft and slippery, almost slimy but not rough. I noticed right away that my skin was almost hydrated and very smooth, like after a scrub. It's a very soft sponge, so it doesn't feel like it's peeling, but it is. Is that so! After a few days of use, I think I'm loving this sponge more and more every day. Every time I use it my skin feels even better than last time. I no longer soak my sponge before use. Only for the first time. Now I just soak it in the sink and make sure it expands fully. I highly recommend these sponges. They are amazing! I don't think I will ever go back to any other facial cleansing method. That is fine. A few tips: when using detergent with these sponges, use only a small drop. Otherwise, you will keep rinsing the sponge trying to wash off the detergent. These sponges are very few, they last for a LONG time. Don't press your lips! You will ruin them. They are made from plants and are quite delicate. I squeeze lightly with one hand to squeeze out the water. Or you can squeeze them between both hands. But don't be rough with them, don't twist or wring them. Always hang them up to air dry.
