I really like this design for filling from the top rather than a sealed bottom. You can easily add an auto-fill float to increase run time and eliminate the need for manual filling, but it has a significant application-dependent downside. It does not turn on when the power is turned off. So if you're trying to use an external humidifier to turn it on and off, then this isn't your humidifier. Unfortunately that's my case, but otherwise it's a good device.
