UPDATE (6/29/20): I've been using it for almost a year, I LOVE THESE. I bought more Highly recommended! I couldn't go back to the naked bar! I've switched to a ceramic soap dish instead of going straight to the counter to make cleaning up leftovers easier. ------ Update: I no longer have soap slipping out of my hands when showering! Love it. I have used a bar of soap with it before and appreciate that it is a reusable product. I attached the old coaster to the new soap. -----Original (September 2019): I was skeptical about this product, but after reading many good reviews and watching the video on the product page, I decided to give it a try. For starters, it's surprisingly easy to insert a handle/soap holder into a bar of soap. I just pasted it. The stand is also surprisingly small, but works well for placing the bar as it gets smaller over time. I was also surprised at how easy it was to use. I like rubbing both sides of the soap with both hands and turning it in my hands. I can still do it with a soap dish, the plastic is smooth and doesn't hurt. Some soaps leave more residue than others. They leave very little residue compared to directly on the counter or in a traditional soap dish. I'm happy with it! I wouldn't expect zero counterweight, you still have to clean underneath from time to time, but I think a lot less. Soap also dries faster.
