GREAT headphones but with some serious considerations for PC gamers

I use these headphones for PC gaming. I recently switched to them from "Gaming" brand headphones and the difference is amazing. I have a $160 SteelSeries headset as well as other brands (Sennheiser, Razer) headsets for the same price and I can't believe I missed it. There are sounds in games that I didn't even know existed. I'll avoid the more studio-oriented portions of the review as there are many rave reviews from people using these headphones in both amateur and professional settings. online reviews. Many review sites put them on par with high-impedance headphones that are many times more expensive. What you need to know about monitor headphones is that they are designed to reproduce sound as pure as possible (comparative to the performance). Most consumer headphones, especially gaming headsets, have a very pronounced V-shaped sound, which means they place a lot of emphasis on highs and lows and cut the mids. The most notable example of how monitor phones work is that the vocals in the music are much clearer and easier to hear, and the overall soundtrack sounds more "balanced". You'll notice this with video games too, as you'll hear a lot of things much more clearly and distinctly, and actually hear sounds that you haven't heard before (that's because of the smoother signature). You look at these gaming headphones, stop thinking and click the buy button. I won't sugarcoat it, the sound these headphones make will come as a shock and you might not like it at first. I personally liked it, but I have some recording studio experience and I knew what to expect. If you've been using mostly gaming headsets or regular consumer headphones, these will sound very strange for a while. But listen to your favorite songs in them for a while (or play your favorite game for a few hours) and then switch back to your old headphones. You'll realize how awful your old headphones sound and wonder what else you're missing out on in life. I only have one main complaint about these headphones and that is the ear cushions. I don't know why headphone manufacturers refuse to invest in good ear pads, but they don't. Fortunately, there are non-genuine ear pads that I would recommend and use EVEN IF they are great. No matter what headphones you use, get the Brainwavz Hybrid Memory Foam Ear Pads, they will change your life. (If you're a hardcore audiophile, they'll change the soundstage a bit, but not necessarily in a negative way.) Another consideration to take into account is the intended use of these headphones: studios and DJs with specialized audio equipment. These headphones work perfectly just by plugging them into the back of your computer or iPhone, but they will be absolutely BRILLIANT if you put a good DAC or audio interface between these headphones and your audio source (I use a Roland Rubix 22, high These are headphones not a headset so they don't have a mic If you are considering these you may need an external mic within your budget As you can imagine with a good audio interface, mic, peripherals and Beat the $160 price tag on these headphones only to get where you were with a similarly priced gaming headset (I spent close to $800) to get his $150 SteelSeries Arctis 7 substitute). So my final thought would be to carefully research ALL the audio systems you want before hitting the buy button. You'll need good gear and the right budget to maximize audio quality, but it's a life-changing experience. So if you can rock, do it.
