Even without the heat on, this is a cozy throw. Controls are simple and allow you to adjust to a particular temperature (85 to 110 in 5-degree increments) and remain on for 30 minutes to 4 hours. It is rather nice to turn the throw on high and let it warm up the bed while you finish tucking everyone else in and get ready for bed yourself.I've had to wash the blanket only once so far, but I held up well on a cold wash/gentle cycle with a low-temperature setting in the dryer. While it is easy to disconnect and reconnect the cord, the connection is sturdy, and I have no worries about long-term safety.I also have a Vellax heated throw I ordered last year- I prefer the Vellax minky fabric to this throws sherpa underside, but I like the controller on this Wemore throw better. In the end, though they are both nice to have in northern climates and I'm happy to have both.
