For an inexpensive tripod it had many great features. But it turns out it has its downsides. The ball head requires a lot of force to lock it in place. I liked the locking mechanism because it was a lever, not a handle. It turns out that leverage has a downside. The neck to the camera mounting plate is too short, so the camera needs to be leveled to attach the ball head. If you fold it back to photograph the Milky Way or star trails, you may be out of luck as the mounting plate blocks the lever. The second disappointment is that the ball head needs to be retorqued really hard. If you don't, the camera could tip over and moving it forward could cost you the lens, lens mount, or your camera. The last point, albeit a small one. The spirit level is located on the camera mounting plate. That's all well and good, but then it hides the camera. It would make more sense to attach it to the side of the ball head. Ah, the last one. The camera mounting plate does not fit well on the ball head mount. Must be raised quite a bit. Otherwise I like it.
