I have a 2006 Toyota RAV4. Over the years the remote controls became worn and stopped working. I chose mechanical keys. No remote controls. Eventually I got fed up with the missing remote control function, so with cautious optimism I bought these two spare keys. I went to a local locksmith to have them cut off for $5 each. He wanted $80 each to program them. I decided to try it myself first. I went to the site, looked at my car and printed out the instructions. It took a few tries** but I was able to get the machine into programming mode. Took me less than 5 minutes from start to finish to program both keys. Now I have two fully functional remotes. It's my fault for not following the instructions as written. Once I did that, the programming went great.
