Luxe Light Board, but not suitable for portrait mode, but rechargeable. 4.5 Stars

CONSTRUCTION: This tracing paper has a lightweight feel for its size. It's a bit thicker at the back so it's tilted towards the user when lying on the table. If you're working in landscape it's great, not so much for portrait. The work surface is very smooth and has a scale on the top and left. Because it is thin and light, it is easy to carry. LIGHTING: Not being an artist, I like to draw things and then redraw them once they're how I want them and I don't like crappy flimsy tracing paper. So light boards are cool. On top of this board I placed my mixed media thick paper drawing and then another sheet of mixed media paper on top. With minimal lighting, I was able to easily trace my photo. At the 2nd minimum level it was better. So the light settings are great! They become light enough to be used with the thickest paper. BATTERY: Since my last lightboard didn't have a battery, I appreciate this one. It charges quickly via a USB-C cable. Less than 2 hours after I plugged mine in, it charged. It's convenient not to be tied to an outlet. MAGNETS: This board does not come with magnets. I find the magnets that come with most of these boards a colossal waste of resources. They chip off so easily and don't hold paper well so I'm glad this board isn't included. I only use masking tape. LIFESPAN: There is a label on the back of the board that says "Lifespan: 390 minutes". I hope that means per charge and not for the life of the device. Mine is still working fine. GENERAL: I work in portrait mode a lot, so I'm not crazy about tilt. The battery and the good lighting usually make up for that.
