All my cable boxes, guest room CD player and Wii console stopped working after a recent lightning strike. Well, I disassembled the CD player and found a badly burned motherboard. But when I checked my Wii power cord, I found that it was powering the AC side and not the DC output that powers the Wii console. My wife wanted me to just suggest a Wii console and buy another one, but since it was a first generation console box I figured why not take a risk and buy a new power supply as it's cheap. Long story short, it worked great and I'm back on my feet and playing all my classic Wii games!
