I followed directions to the letter when replacing the batteries in a 2015 Toyota Highlander and 2016 Toyota Avalon this weekend. After new batteries were installed in both cars and I unplugged the memory saver device from the OBD II port, ALL radio settings, seat position settings and navigation/target settings remained intact. Now all these settings may still be saved (not knowing if Toyota has another internal memory backup) but I certainly haven't lost any settings. So, I want to say that you can't go wrong with this saver and I will definitely use it the next time I need to disconnect the batteries.
