According to the size chart I was right on the line between small and medium but as my calves are quite skinny myself I went for a small one . When it arrived I admitted I was concerned the product would be too tight. It was a little tricky, but everything came together perfectly in the end. I was afraid the tightness would reduce my circulation, but it was the other way around. I actually felt that the sleeve fit offered extra support and warmth, and for a Midwestern American suffering another harsh winter, that's great. I have used these sleeves for both running and cycling. While they're great for both, I definitely see myself using them more for cycling than running in the future. Due to the design of the sleeves, I was impressed that despite the full range of motion while cycling, they stayed in place without slipping or tripping. Overall, I would recommend them to athletes who need extra support and warmth. Especially in cold weather, it's so easy to strain your calf otherwise; What the wesen said, I was most impressed with this product's ability to keep my calf muscles warm and breathable without blocking sweat.
