Is this product too good to be true? Based on the reviews and the price I decided to take a chance. I tried installing it on a 2000 Lexus ES300 and struggled with it for over an hour. The problem is that the holes it attaches to the gearbox don't line up. I compared it to the old (OEM) one and the only issue I saw was the mounting holes. I even tried enlarging these holes but they still didn't fit so I gave up. I'm planning to buy an OEM or at least one from a local store where I can return it if I have the same problem. I have no plans to return this one due to trying to enlarge the mounting holes. - Update - All local parts dealers are selling the same item at a much higher price. The quality of this product is consistent with what I have seen in these stores. If it fits your car, then it's perfect. I had to go to a Lexus dealership and buy a part number that matched my car. It wasn't even available from Toyota dealerships and could be ordered. It cost over $100.
