I chose this other brand because it didn't have felt on the bottom and I wanted kids to be able to use it as a slide (hard to push). on felt). As far as it goes, I'm satisfied. I have no complaints about the balance board itself and I know my kids will enjoy it a lot. Calling it a "carpet" is disingenuous. A "playmat" is a thin piece of fabric that has no structure or weight: think a very, very cheap sheet (see picture). As the leaflet itself states, "do not use on surfaces that may move without warning while the board is in use." You cannot use this 'mat' as a board mat as shown in the pictures. That would be fine unless they portrayed it as such, hence the docked star. In fact, I am changing it to 3 stars when I fold the sheet again. I didn't buy it for a mat, I bought it for the board itself, but this deception annoys me.
