This contraption is a tremendous added convenience to the i7 Roomba. I love it. It's essentially a stationary vacuum/charging station that empties your robot vacuum's basket into a much larger HEPA bag that you discard and replace once it's full, just like a regular bagged vacuum. The package includes a spare Roomba basket that the stationary vacuum can open to suck accumulated dirt into the bag. Your Roomba will return to the stationary vacuum when it runs out of power or its basket is full. If there is enough dirt, the stationary vacuum cleaner works and sucks it into the bag. Roomba, now empty, resumes its mission after being fully charged. If like me you hate emptying your Roomba (i7) then this is for you. If you're sending Roomba on an initial mapping tour of your premises, don't make my mistake and keep the old dock connected to the network as well (both the existing i7 dock and collection bin become redundant items). Your Roomba will map and even display both stations, but (at least for now) will create a muddled map of your space. iRobot ships a modest set of replacement pouches with your order, and you can easily purchase more. It's nice to hear the Roomba spinning quietly and doing its own thing, and occasionally hearing a whistle that it's draining itself. Indicators will tell you when it's time to replace the pouch (after many, many Roomba launches).
