I had to do without synthetic materials. That was my best choice. As soon as I opened the package it smelled so bad. Very strong synthetic smell. I almost returned it immediately, but I decided to make it work because there are no other options. I had to wash it twice to get the smell out and then let it air out for a week before putting it on my new organic latex mattress. Our mattress is 6 inches deep but standard queen length. A deeper mattress might work, but no problem with extra material. It doesn't get narrower in width. Does it really work? Too early to judge. A brand new mattress, brand new organic cotton sheets, freshly laundered cotton duvets and linens, and a freshly made bed make it impossible to judge.
