Review on Pixio PX277P 27" FreeSync Esports Monitor - 2560X1440P, Adaptive Sync, Flicker-Free, Frameless Design, Swivel Adjustment, HD Display by Hunter Schneider

Revainrating 4 out of 5

PX243 seems to be a decent monitor

I received this PX243 monitor few days ago (October 2022). There are no dead pixels and no defects except for a slight physical aberration right in the center of the monitor. At first I thought it was a dark pixel, but I sense a small physical issue there. Fortunately, this issue is probably 1-2 pixels in size and only appears (light grey) on a white background. As I write this review I see it right above where I am writing. I did not call upon receipt. That's why I rated it 4/5. All HDMI/DP ports work for my needs (60Hz on 3 PCs) but I tested 165Hz on my gaming PC. That works fine. I'll think about leaving it in place. One thing I have no idea if this is an issue or not has to do with scrolling text in the Windows 10 settings panel in dark mode. When I scroll all the text is practically invisible until I stop scrolling. Default font, etc. My monitor is completely dimmed. But on my old Dell 2410 (dimmed) the text remains fully visible when scrolling. Don't know if you can configure that. I think it has to do with it being a VA panel. It seems that the black color of the dark Windows theme is partly to blame. Ubuntu uses more grayscale for its dark mode and the problem isn't as obvious here. The audio output is ok. I don't have a problem with that, but I'm not an audiophile. I don't notice any cracking or hissing. I mounted this on a VESA stand. In particular, the standard VESA screws (M4-12) are too long for my VESA mount. I had to buy M4-10 mounting screws to mount it on the VESA mounting plate. Otherwise, the monitor has been weakened. Yes, it is a VESA mount. No, I didn't do anything wrong when connecting. I will update this review over time.
