My grilles are actually 14mm, so they weren't installed exactly as intended. I also have handguards to consider. I had to grind off part of the nipple extension and was unable to use the washers that came with it. When I finally got to the point where they could be installed, it was a pain to set and position them properly. But after proper installation and adjustment, they became strong and transparent. The convex mirror took a little getting used to - it was supposed to determine how far the car was when I had to overtake. So I would prefer if they have a flat surface along with a convex one. I really like how they look on the bike and they are pretty damn stable, no vibration as far as I can tell.
