I wanted something waterproof to store my car keys and phone while sailing in the sea. The worst thing about this backpack is that the pocket is too small. There is no space to store much of anything. Maybe you could hide some bills and coins, that's all. When you fold the top to secure the velcro it doesn't make good contact and starts to open. The zippers were waterproof when I tested them, but I wouldn't trust taking anything of value without a better seal. I like that you can adjust the belt individually. I've tried other straps and they were too loose even with the tightest fit.
