I love the Dusk Till Dawn Light over the garage door to illuminate the driveway and garage door. For years I have had a 70 watt HPS (high pressure sodium) that has worked great. It wasn't a super bright light, but it did illuminate a large area. The bulbs have lasted a long time but eventually they will fail but they can be replaced as the ballast failure meant a new fixture. This happened to me so I was about to buy a new one and noticed that they are slowly being phased out and being replaced with LED bulbs. Some of them were quite expensive but I found this one to be a really decent price so I bought it. I installed it where the old HPS was and went out that same evening to see how it worked. It turned on and off very quickly, so I ran my finger over the photocell and it stayed on. It turned out that the light from my casita was reflected directly onto the photocell. I made a small screen to block reflected light from my casita and it has always worked well. This light puts out a very bright light and sometimes when I open the garage door at night I think it's daylight until the gate opens a little further. I think LEDs are the future so I would recommend one of these as it's really bright but stingy on power consumption.
