Great features for the price. It took some troubleshooting.

It had the features I wanted in a cheap laptop: 256GB SSD, 8GB storage and Windows 10 Pro. It came in a cardboard box with industrial bubble wrap. The courier could throw it onto the porch like a Frisbee from 20 meters, and it wouldn't damage the computer. Thanks to the seller for that. Overall it looks clean and new. Holding it up to the light, I can spot the slightest wear on the spacebar. Otherwise it looks like new. There were some quirks to setting it up the way I wanted. I had to google some troubleshooting questions. First it ran Windows 10 Pro 1703. Windows Update wasn't downloading any updates, so I had to run the Windows Update troubleshooter and then do a clean boot. After that Windows Update was fine. I skipped all 1703 updates and went straight to the 1809 download site to save time. Second, I wanted to encrypt the drive with BitLocker. An initial hardware scan using the TPM management tool (press Windows+R and then type tpm.msc in the dialog box) showed that the TPM was missing. Hm. I then checked if TPM is disabled. (Press F2 while the computer is booting - when the "Dell" icon appears - to bring up the UEFI settings screen. Look in the menu for something about "TPM support" or something.) There was a TPM. It just got turned off. Once it was enabled, I had no trouble setting up BitLocker. I now have a great little PC for MS Office applications and web browsing at a great price.

Cons
  • Good but not great
