UPDATE Dec 7, 2020: I was super happy to report that this thing will charge my 2019 13" Macbook Pro at 30W. It did so for a few hours. However, at some point, it died and now it appears totally dead. No output on either the USB-C or USB-A outlets. USB-PD should negotiate the power level the source device can safely provide to the powered device. This thing offered 30W to the Macbook, but clearly it couldn't provide that for an extended period. It's one thing if it would refuse to charge at 30W for more than a short time or something, but it's totally not okay to offer more than it can handle and then die. Makes me wonder if it's (a) safe or (b) trustworthy long term. I'm bummed, because otherwise I was quite happy with this.Original Oct 31, 2020:So far, this seems good. I got it to replace an older dual-USB-A outlet from a major brand. Now that we have more and more USB-C devices, it makes sense to have at least one real USB-C outlet in our main charging location. Since this supports USB-PD I figured it would be a good option.I don't have a USB-C meter, but my Pixel devices seem to like it and immediately go into rapid charge mode (a sign that the USB-PD is working as expected) and indeed ramp up quickly. The USB-A devices are similarly happy, and in regular 2.0 mode, it shows a solid 5.17v unloaded and during charging. I don't have anything that uses QC to validate that that part works, but given it's an aging standard, it doesn't really matter to me if it does or not.I wired this up outside a box for initial testing, and to see how warm it gets when supplying full current to two charging devices. I'm happy to report that it gets only mildly warm, even better than the device it is replacing from a major brand name.
