It's a great way to lower energy usage while you're on a trip.Pros:- Easy to set up- Easy to use- Responds immediately when you turn off a port via appCons:- Bad instruction booklet. (Almost thought the device was broken when I plugged something in since nothing in the booklet mentioned you had to hold the wifi button)- USB slow charge- Back port a little bit big, so I had a little difficulty installing.

While installing the new outlet you must use the cover provided. The screws they provide do not go through the outlet housing or the faceplate. You’ll have to buy new screws. Who in their right mind puts the wrong size diameter screws in their packaging. Because of this, I’ll never buy it again. I’m sure this will get read and they’ll offer a replacement, cool, if you wanna do everything twice and wait a week.

One of the receptacles is defective after a short period of use. (Dropped off of WiFi and now won’t pair) Contacted the manufacturer and had to go through their lengthy back and forth emails. Installed these almost 4 months ago to control my sons amount of time playing video games. Both outlets can be easily turned on/off by the app. Very easy to install and program.

This outlet is pretty big, hard to fit into older boxes. A regular trim plate fits it nicely though. It connected right up to my wifi using the Avatar controls app. I like this one over some of the others because the one button turns on both outlets and is easy to find. I wish the button was lit when the outlets were off so a person could find it in the dark though.

This product is not UL listed. That's on me for not checking but installing a non UL listed receptacle in your home is dangerous. Lets say your house burns down and it was because of this plug. Your insurance that is doing everything it can to not pay you may say "you violated National Electric Code by installing a Non Listed an Non approved receptacle." device would not pair. This was super easy to install, however it took a bit to be able to get it to hook up to the app. I ended up having to use the manual connect feature instead of the easy setup.

It was easy to install and set up. I use it to control power to a line of 5 (soon to be 12) web cams in a bird rehabilitation facility, so if there's a problem, I can reboot the entire system (cameras, switches, Wi-Fi) from 200 miles away without bothering the personnel. Worth the money.

Got these so when working nights (swing shift) we can set the game area to shut off, you use these to kill the area with Xboxes and the internet to hopefully keep them from staying up late when it's there for bed time. The Geeni Smart WiFi outlet does everything I need it to. Installation in the receptacle box was a bit tight and I would up having to cut away a portion of the mounting tab on the receptacle box so that the outlet would fit. The ground screw location made that necessary as the hight of the outlet box was the same as the receptacle box opening and once the ground wire was attached the outlet would not fit into the receptacle box opening.
