I am learning to play a musical instrument and I record home videos of my class performances to upload for my teacher to rate. I wanted to improve the sound quality of the videos I filmed with my phone's camera. I have an interview kit because with two mics I can set one at instrument level and one higher up for my voice. I tried the Interview Set with my Android phone (Alcatel OneTouch) and it didn't register any sound (I think this is because the phone's headphone jack only works for output and not for microphone input. But then I got that Interview Set connected to my iPad). . -- and the microphones worked great! My only complaint (reason for my 4 star rating instead of 5) is that the cables are too short for my needs. To get my face and instrument in the frame of the video, I had to move the camera away, which meant I couldn't get the mics as close to me as needed. So I compromised by moving both mics back towards the camera. However, this reduced the sound quality because I was not really "at the microphone” at this distance. But even then, I got results that beat the iPad's built-in mic or the phone's mic. I also like the very durable carrying case that contains the interview kit, as well as the velcro straps to keep cables from tangling. d and I both plug our headphones into a Y-splitter so we can watch movies together on our laptop.
