The material is the same as Columbia Silveridge 2.0 for women and men. Very light and comfortable. I am a petite adult, 5'3", 29" inseam. Typically 2 or 4 inch (26 or 27) jeans are worn depending on the cut. I ordered size L and it fits perfectly. The rise was spot on and there is room for movement - it's important because. the fabric does not stretch. I prefer the newly designed shorts which have a 9 inch inseam which is a few inches shorter than the adult version. The women's Silveridge 2.0 shorts are slightly better, but at half the price they're a good alternative.
