Can be attached to the plate carrier with the supplied D-rings, but the rear straps are not removable and therefore must be attached from below. I got a star because at this price point the straps should be better for removal, especially given the customer base. The bubble is INTEGRATED, so don't pop it. To its credit it seems to be quite durable and the hose is longer than any other bladder brand I've owned. The mouthpiece valve is a switchable valve a few inches in front of the mouthpiece rather than the typical push-pull valve. Overall a bit pricey but well made.
