I'm technically gifted, but I've only done about 6 air conditioning jobs. ECM was new to me. A technician diagnosed a fan failure during the rental. I asked him to put the old motor back in place after he told me the repair would take another day to replace the source and would be "very expensive" (when it was offered he probably said over $1000). The wiring was very easy to trace and replace. Literally C>c, L>l, 3>3 etc. Check out some well done videos on YouTube. If you're not sure after that, don't worry, but if it seems doable to you, it's very accessible for the average jack of all trades. The engine produces the same flow rate as the factory engine with the same valve settings. Very smooth rotation and quiet operation. Luckily, my squirrel cage was easy to replace. I was hesitant at first because of all the postings listing various OEMs etc, but this "evergreen" engine was a perfect fit. Good product
