The lights themselves are very nice. I hung them in each of the children's rooms to create a relaxed atmosphere. These spheres are a good size - not too big - and give off a nice warm light. However, the overall effect is different in each room. My daughter's room is much smaller than my son's, so the light makes her room much brighter than my son's. Also, my daughter's wall color is yellow and my son's is blue, so the light in my daughter's room is much warmer than my son's. In general, I'm very happy with it, but what really disappointed me were the 8 "Effects". Aside from the usual "always-on" mode, I find everything else pretty useless and frustrating. Most modes are too flashy and crazy. I'm looking for a quiet atmosphere, not the Las Vegas Strip. The two settings where they actually dim would be great if they didn't turn off completely. In these two modes, the light dims until it goes out and then turns back on, alternating between them again. I really wish there was a simple "flicker" setting - one that doesn't switch to blinking - and I wish there was just a dark setting. This would make it a 5 star product.
