This is the second time I've bought these. 4ft is great for watercraft, 6ft is probably best for boats from 16ft to 31ft. Lighter than a rope to keep the boat close to the dock but can jump if needed as we all know there are still big waves at the docks. The 4 foot length fits in my small Kawasaki SX-R storage compartment so I can tie it down if needed. Please note that there are variations as to which end is on this item. For the boat I would skip the hooks and leave both ends with loops.
