Can't fix PEBKAC but can fix Mac drive.

I love this thing. If you can control the toaster, you can control this thing. If you're having a hard time cloning a drive with this device, I have to ask, who makes your toast? On the engineering side, I recently upgraded my iMac to an SSD drive. After I cloned the drive and installed it back on my Mac, it wouldn't boot. And what's even more concerning, when I replaced the old hard drive, the newly cloned hard drive didn't show up in Disk Utility. Troubleshooting I noticed that the hard drive shows up at boot but the operating system doesn't load. Of course, cloning initially seemed to have failed. I lifted the drive on my wife's Macbook to troubleshoot. In "Disk Utility" I noticed that the volume is not specified. You know, as many videos as photos etc. I ran First Aid and repaired the file system and when I put the drive back into my iMac the drive spun up immediately. I must add, much faster than ever. In summary, the problem was with the Mac's file system, not the cloner.

Pros
  • High scores for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • There are some nuances
