I've had several different stands for the DR650. This bent sheet metal structure is manufactured by several companies and there are likely to be locally made shelving units of this type wherever you live. However, these shelving units are much more expensive than this one. The sheet metal used in this shelf is slightly thicker than other shelves of this type, has a very good finish and includes fasteners. Depending on how your bike is set up, you may need or want to use different gear. The trunk looks great and has a low profile. I have a secondary fender and taillight; I think this will still clean the original fender and taillight. For almost the same price I bought a more "universal" top rack from a major brand that starts with a T and was very disappointed. This Xitomer is a perfect fit, much lighter and looks nicer. I'm not saying this is the best stand for the DR650, but since you have the only other stand you can get in this price range, as well as other stands that cost twice as much, Xitomer is definitely the best stand for you. can fall into this price range.
