These items are silicone/plastic coated with 'gold paint'. Came rolled up in a plastic bag. Put at least a piece of cardboard on top so they don't bend or lose their shape. They went back to normal after putting a few heavy books on them overnight. two carpets have small tears in the texture/color. Not super noticeable, but they are there. (This may be due to transport in a plastic bag. I don't know). I have no idea how heat resistant they will be. It would be convenient for me to put a warm plate on it, but a hot kettle.
