After trying to find what I considered standard clothing in men's clothing stores, I took a chance on ordering by mail order. I thought I had XL. I am 6ft 2in and 210lbs. In a time that seems to be gone forever, shirts were sold in chest, neck and inseam sizes. I wore an 18 neck. These shorts fit all sizes except the neckline which looks like a size 17. This means I have to use a tie knot to hide the fact that I didn't fasten the top button. I blame it on millennial donors. Men go to the gym but don't train their necks. I would like to add that this is not a constant push. The shirts sold in the 80s were constantly ironed. Maybe the chemicals used were dangerous, or maybe ironing boards are fun now.
