Removable plate issues

I really wanted to love this tripod, I spent weeks researching, looking at several brands and weighing the pros and cons of each. One of the main reasons I chose this tripod was its maximum height it could reach considering I'm 6"1 tall and I didn't want to spend most of my time tilting too far and something small and compact to use. In any case, out of the box the tripod feels solid, heavier than I thought but still manageable. The legs feel solid and a bit of a hassle to fold but that's good - I don't know how long it will take for them to loosen after unpacking them several times. After setting up the tripod, I found the first of two major problems with the tripod: the removable plate, even when tightened as far as it could go, rotated the camera at still with a light touch, the anti-slip feet don't seem to affect anything at all - camera and lens were on a tripod, I craned my neck and my camera rotated 90 degrees - my heart missed a beat! Luckily I caught him before he moved on. Which brings me to the second issue, the trigger plate dial is too close to the bottom of the camera. I have small hands and had trouble tightening and loosening the dial to take the camera off. Finally, when using the camera level line, even when standing on solid ground when nothing was moving, the camera showed that it was unstable - I don't know why. So I will return this tripod and continue my search.
