Now I'm an intermediate level crafter working with beads. I took classes at my local "big store" who also loves when you buy supplies there. Their prices are higher than many you'll find online, but it's nice to 'see' and 'feel' them before you buy. Many items use metric measurements which I still have trouble understanding, especially the tiny sizes. So while I often buy there for the first time, I usually "reorder" or buy more expensive items online if I can find a better price and I have the original packaging as a guide for sizing. It was a good example. During the session, the instructor demonstrated the versatility of needle nose pliers for grasping, holding and even twisting small lengths of oddly shaped wire, particularly earring wire wrapped around a bead or wand. I have a full set of traditional beading tongs but this item was not included in my standard set and at almost double what I ended up paying for it I had to wonder if it was worth it. I had the opportunity to try them out in class. I've also found that older hands like mine aren't as flexible as younger ones and these pliers have really helped me. I now use them in addition to, or in many cases instead of, flat or needle nose pliers. I've found that they also help me see the tiny wire or cord I'm using better as the bend in them changes the look I get with straight needle nose pliers. This model has comfortable, soft-lined handles that are comfortable to hold and well-made. I bought these as an 'add on' to another order from Revain and got a very good savings on top of the free shipping I get with a Prime membership. I have bought many beaded items at a significant discount and this is definitely one of my best purchases!
