Review on Ultimate Men's Hair Removal: Magic Shaving Powder Regular Depilatory Shave by Jennifer Wible

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I have burned my skin with shaving creams, lotions and gels.

I'm a white female in my 40's and have used this product on my face to get rid of the peachy fluff that I usually shave off with a disposable razor. I don't have sensitive skin and never have. I was very excited to try this after seeing a few videos of it online, and missed the label's recommendation to patch test. And I regret it. Instructions say to mix two heaped teaspoons of the powder with an equal amount of water and leave the mixture on for five to seven minutes. I was conservative and only waited five. When I wiped it off, the peachy fuzz was gone, but my face was left with large, very red patches of painful burns. It looked and felt like a bad sunburn. And now, two days later, it's still not fully healed, scaly and rough to the touch. The pain subsided. My husband tried the powder at the same time as I did and his skin did not react at all, but there was a significant amount of hair left on his chin and mustache area. He probably won't use it anymore. Oh, and a note on the smell, it smells like rotten eggs. If you know other hair removal products, you know the smell. As I mentioned earlier, I saw a couple of women on social media giving rave reviews about this product and both said they were not sponsored. So maybe my experience wasn't the norm. But if you want to try it, please don't be impatient like me and do a patch test. I'm still apologizing to my face.
