Review on Acer KA220HQ 21.5 inch Viewable Monitor: 1920x1080P, 60Hz, Tilt Adjustment, HD Display by Darrell Bell

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I'm shocked. in my rating

I first bought it to use for work from home but it failed. My old Dell Inspiron gaming laptop died after only a few years and instead of spending tons of money on another laptop that would only last a few years, I decided to build a gaming PC instead. That's where this monitor comes in. I was planning to buy a $200-300 monitor specifically designed for gaming, but this little guy blew my mind when I saw how it looked while gaming in HD. It looks a bit strange when I'm browsing the web, but I see sharpness and clarity when it comes to gaming. (The photos I've included don't do it justice, but it's very close!) It's not 4K quality, but I'm ok with that. I see a lot of negative feedback about it looking choppy and fuzzy. That's what I thought too at first, but I hooked it up to my Thinkpad, which doesn't have an HD. That's the difference folks! If you don't have a PC or laptop with a graphics card that has HD capability, this won't work. It's not the same as buying a TV with built-in HD. My little gaming rig comes with a lower-mid-range HD-capable AMD Radeon GPU, along with an upper-mid-range CPU (not essential, but helps with processing), and it feels like day and night. If you are on a budget and have a PC/Laptop with HD capabilities then I would definitely recommend this one. If you don't have HD, just SD and aren't worried about loss of quality and clarity, this works too. You can still see things. This is a monitor. Haha.
