Works but could use improvement

Bought to play CDs with bluetooth speaker. The player works but isn't as well constructed as several disc drive style players I had in the 80's and 90's. Pros: Good sound from my bluetooth speaker. I don't use headphones. Cons: - The door doesn't open very far (only at a 45 degree angle), so loading and especially unloading discs is awkward. Can be easily solved by letting the door open 90 degrees. -Very small LCD display is difficult to read. - Both "Play Mode" (to control Shuffle, Repeat, All, etc.) and "Bluetooth Mode" are controlled by the same button, so you can turn Bluetooth off when trying to select the play mode you want. - Bluetooth playback is clunky. Hold the button to connect, but it may take up to 50 seconds to connect. The player automatically starts playing the CD before connecting to the speaker, so you've been listening to a song for 50 seconds before hearing the music. When switching discs, the Bluetooth speaker sometimes turns off, presumably if you wait too long to start playing the next disc. - The silence between songs is only about 1 second. I'm not sure why the playback doesn't use the time delay already programmed on the CD. Ultimately, the device works mostly as you would expect, but HOTT could have done its homework to see how pre-MP3 portable CD players have previously worked successfully. reinvent the wheel.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Hard to tell
