Okay, I understand why people say it "smells". The mint in this hair scrub can make the smell a bit stronger. But for me it wasn't a bad smell. I wouldn't call it an old woman's smell either. It's just "mint". That's the best way I can describe it. At first it was strange to grasp a small drop of this substance. Then spread it on both hands and then start washing your hair with it. It was weird at first too. But it foams up very quickly. You need to use a teaspoon and froth it up. Leave on for 2 minutes while washing in the shower, then rinse off. You can then apply some (and I mean a pea sized amount) of conditioner and then wash it off. You do this scrub once a week and then use shampoo and conditioner on other days. My hair is very fine and soft and I can see and feel my hair seems lighter (weight wise) and seems to have more volume. I've only been using it for about 3 weeks so far. But I like it. I will buy more when this batch runs out.
