Review on πŸ“Ž Carl 62040 HC-240 Two-Hole Punch, 40-Sheet Capacity, 9/32" Dia. Holes, Metallic Silver by Karla Richter

Absolutely durable, highly recommend with ONE caveat

This is a very well built, quality two hole punch that has worked great for us. This thing is built like a tank and after 2.5 years of regular business use it still looks and works like new. It is designed to perforate 40 sheets of paper. I like to be a bit conservative when it comes to stamping, but I typically do 30 sheets of (heavier) 22 lb paper. The knives are still very sharp and cut easily and cleanly. One reviewer noted that they don't penetrate enough and the hole size is smaller than advertised. I will say that the size of the hole was not a problem for us at all, but I was intrigued by the review. So I measured the resulting hole with a very accurate caliper. The reviewer was right, it's a long way from 9/32" (but slightly larger than 7/32"). The resulting holes are just under 1/4", 0.246 to be exact. Again, this didn't cause us any problems, but keep in mind that the holes are far from 0.28125 (9/32") think that's a problem. For her. If you read some of the other reviews you'll find that some people don't like the manuals. It is true that they are not fixed and can be easily shifted. This was never a problem for us because one day I installed the 8 1/2" paper guides and then taped them (on the bottom) with tape. And they didn't move. after 2 1/2 years still original pieces of tape, even see the drawing attached to this review where I taped the bottom of the stamp. This is an absolutely solid, well-made two-hole punch. I highly recommend it with one caveat: *IF* you need to move the guides to fit different paper sizes, obviously you can't use the tape trick to keep them from moving. In that case I would not recommend buying this hammer drill as it will probably disappoint you a lot. However, if you're only punching through one size, just stick it on and forget about it. You will love to hit. In that case I would not recommend buying this hammer drill as it will probably disappoint you a lot.
