I unplugged the battery cable on the back before unplugging the display cable for device security. By removing the screen and then running a new cable through the bezel and plugging it back in, I made sure there was no dust on the actual surface of the screen. The protective film was a bit difficult to remove, but then it comes off easily. CAREFULLY align the digitizer screen and place it in place. Press on the edges to make sure it sticks. Then I reconnected the battery cable, put the back cover on, cleaned the new screen really well and put on a new screen protector and a better case! I think the only tool I used was tweezers to thread the cable through the hole in the case. . (I used a slightly thinner pick and metal tool) I'm glad to get all the small screwdrivers as I might use them one day when working on other electronics.
