Review on Denso 234 9023 Fuel Ratio Sensor by Andrew Walton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Do not modify the sensor connector as it will not fit. The 2 upper air/fuel sensors have different connectors for some reason.

This is for a 2001 Rav4 code 1135 but refers to the driver side sensor not the passenger side sensor. The passenger side goes through a hole in the heat shield and the driver's side is on the side of the heat shield. I avoid confusing the terms "right" and "left" except by saying that "driver's side" is the American version, not the UK. Also, plugs are different, so if your plug doesn't fit, you're putting it in the wrong hole. I found a few people who rewired their sensor (like me) because I was convinced the 1135 was the passenger's sensor and not the driver's side sensor and they sent me the faulty connector. I was wrong. I made this mistake after seeing some reviews that their plug was wrong and they fixed it by reconnecting it. It didn't hurt, it just didn't work, and after a lot of splicing I ended up with a faulty 1135 sensor (driver's side). I also avoid the terms "sensor 1 or 2 bank 1" and "sensor 1 or 2 bank 2" as these are quite confusing and misrepresented on different charts. This attached schematic appears to be correct.
