Good light everyday storage

This shelf looked like it would be good for the job we need it for. Needed a lightweight shelf that would fit in a small closet in a small caravan. It only weighs about 10 pounds and fits perfectly in the space required, easily holding towels and other not-so-heavy items. Everything seems to work, very happy with the purchase! Now for assembly. not difficult to understand at all. However, I had to assemble it in the closet as it didn't go through the assembled frame. It might be easier and quicker to set it up on hard ground with more clearance, but that's not an option. It took me about an hour. The instructions were easy to follow, starting with "count all your pieces before you begin". What I did. Everything is taken into account. What I didn't do was check every detail. If you have concerns about the look of the shelf - if it's in a prominent place and not in a closet - you MUST inspect each item. Some powder coated grates weren't fully covered and some were a bit rusty. Rustoleum spray paint fixed that for me. Many had chips in the paint. Spray paint again. But as I said, mine is in the closet and only for storage in the closet. As I began assembly, I found that the included small mallet came in handy for tapping the first plastic corner piece against the wire mesh. And then I started tapping the second item on top and the cute little wooden hammer handle just snapped in half. I'm a tiny, tiny citizen, and while I'm (believe I am) invincible, I don't have the power of Thor, and that cute mallet must have been made out of balsa wood, it most certainly was. t sturdy pine. not to mention an iron hammer, forged by mythical creatures to serve a worthy master, that didn't even last two plastic Wahamakallites. For assembly you need pliers and a real hammer. Once assembled the device feels solid and the cubes are enough to hold more than I load them. It stands squarely on the closet floor, doesn't wobble, fall or lean to one side. Instead of the 3,2,1 configuration shown in the item description, I built two cubes wide and three high. Works for what I need and assembly was pretty easy despite having to assemble it in the tight walls of a closet.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
