I was so excited to see this product in a small setup as I have many of their products and they are always good but this has a disadvantage. it is not a permanent and safe design. This is most evident when you add a bar and keep focus, the top plate actually flexes. Yes, you understood me correctly, he bent and twisted optically. It's very bad to use follow focus and makes you feel unsafe using it on anything other than a hot shoe mounted mic. I ended up going back and buying a half cage from Smallrig which is great. I'm disappointed that this product didn't work as I prefer a minimal and lighter addition. Well I hope they fix the design flaw and make a version 2.
