Theoretically a great idea. Installation was pretty easy, but there were a few issues. If you ever want to erase your Echo, it will leave a mark. In addition, the cover does not fit the ceiling exactly, there is a gap. Not that bad, but enough to bother me every time I look at it. The biggest disappointment was the sound. It sounds muddy and has lost a lot of clarity and unacceptance. Raising the treble didn't help much either. It was really obvious when I hooked up another Echo in another room. The built in Echo sounded so bad in comparison that I'm considering pulling the Echo out and leaving the grille (with an eyesore) in, otherwise I'd have to try to patch the big ugly hole left by this mount. I've been working with audio for over 20 years and this mount changes the characteristics of sound in a negative, tangible and measurable way. It's not just a "preference," it severely degraded the sound. My wife also said she thinks it doesn't respond to voice commands either and she may be right but I will disagree as I kicked and yelled to get that blanket up. Overall I think this is a bad product. The price wasn't even that great. I wish there was another mount that actually works that I could change. One of the worst purchases I've made in a long time.
