Well, like the first review, I bought it on Black Friday. In fact, I bought two different cameras and now I'm choosing which one is better. I decided to "up the ante" for comments on the quality of the photos. My old camera is Samsung L60. Great little camera but beat up and dated. So I figured I'd capitalize on yesterday's sales. So I took a series of photos with each camera while sitting on the couch to have a real comparison. Here's what I found out. A window shot of a leafless tree at maximum magnification. Nikon undoubtedly had the best photo. I put my favorite Samsung on the shaman. Better color, better clarity, better all across the board, and it's at maximum zoom (optical and digital on both cameras). The next photo was from my indoor computer. No zoom, about 3ft in normal automatic program modes. Samsung photography dominated this round. The Nikon photo was completely washed out, our brown couch looked off-white and my black computer looked gray. The next shot was of our living room by the fireplace, 12 feet away, with the flash and maximum optical zoom. Samsung narrowly won only because of the color saturation, the photos turned out gloomy. The Nikon shot was sharper but much darker and the flash didn't work. The last picture was the same shot from the fireplace without the flash. Nikon won this because of its clarity. The Samsung was very blurry. Both had poor color saturation. MP comparison. My Samsung was 6 and Nikon was 12. Nikon was slightly better than Samsung in true photo quality. I thought it would be a bit more of a visual difference, but it wasn't. Flash. The Nikon flash didn't seem to travel about 8 feet. The flash seemed to have only one power level, no matter how far away the subject was. The Samsung walked across the room with no issues. Delay Time. Nikon is much better. Samsung is about 2 seconds behind Nikon, which I didn't even notice. Cyclic Flash. About the same. Lasts a few seconds. Final Thoughts. This is a good average camera. I paid $300 for Samsung 4 years ago and Nikon is $70 for almost the same camera with better latency. So is it worth it? If you're looking for an all-around camera for mostly flashless photography, I think this is the one for you. If you take a lot of photos indoors and need a flash, I would draw your attention elsewhere. Hope that helps.
