I wear them while working on projects so I don't have to spend a lot of time picking my shoes to clean. I've had several good pairs of work boots over the years that have gone out sooner than intended because something had gotten on them meaning they look unprofessional. They weigh nothing, and if the outer pair fails on day one, you know you have a backup pair to watch out for on subsequent trail camp nights. Keep those boots clean and those hiking feet in a proper place!
