Review on πŸ”₯ Design Engineering 010454 Titanium Pipe Shield - Ultimate Exhaust Heat Defense, 4" x 1' by Andy Thorson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worked as expected 6 in x 1 ft

I bought these to protect my new airbags under my RV (W22). The old airbags were swollen and leaking because I installed them to protect the stock airbags. Installation was easy but takes time. There were no issues with rivets or material, both seemed pretty solid even when pushed and pulled to get them in place. The first ride was 475 miles one-way through Florida's heat and freeways, there was no odors or pad heater safety issues.I believe most of the negative reviews relate to motorcycle installations. A wrapper might be better suited for this task. If you tighten them and the edge touches the object before the clamp is tight, I think the rivets will come loose. . Either use a smaller clamp or don't buy one unless you have the leeway to tighten it. You must consider kickback distance and material thickness to know if they are right for your application.

Pros
  • Reduces heat entering the vehicle when placed on top of exhaust pipes
Cons
  • Reliability
